"'Kay, thanks Jerm." Marie called, practically sliding down the banister on her way down the stairs

She slipped awkwardly on the floor, her socks not providing her with adequate friction. Regaining her composure, she pretended to skate to the mini-fridge, humming contentedly.

Marie opened the door, reached inside, and weighed the carton in her hand. "Dang. We went through this fast," she commented, unscrewing the lid, "Mind if I just finish it off?"

Marie looked up.

And then she stopped. Stared. Cocked her head to one side.

"...Who's that?"

I send a ball of psionic energy at Marie’s feet, intentionally missing. It makes a small explosion as it hits the floor. “I will warn you. I am not a force to be trifled with,” I say, “Or do you need to find out firsthand my power?”
