Door sighed happily. This was what she lived for, not being tied to anything, not expected to be anywhere at any time...

They didn't have long to wait. Soon enough, the sun dropped to a lower level, sending its rays into the tiny drops. One crystal-like water drop broke the light into millions of rays, which in turn lit up the other billions of mist particles, consequently lighting the entire falls up in a brilliant display of nature's grandiose.
"It's gorgeous...isn't it...I don't think this could get any better..."

He sucked in his breath, marvelling at the multitude of irridescent particles exploding through the air, raining down on them like fairy dust.

"Yeah. Exactly..." Door sat near the head of the bridge, pulling her knees up to her chin. "This is pretty much the best spot in Hyrule to see the sunset."

"It's like this all over the place, just not as fine as it is here..." She nabbed a peek of him out of the coner of her eye, then grinned to herself, going back to watch the lights.

He watched, transfixed at the swirling lightshow before them. It wouldn't last long though, he knew...and he'd have to be back home before long...

The sun slowly set, eventually leaving the two nobility in the dim twilight.
Door sighed, unwilling to leave. "I suppose I should be getting you home..."

She turned her back to the bridge, still holding Alex's hand in hers while she opened another window into the Castle Town--

--"I hope this is close enough," she whispered, stepping out before the gates of the Vanderpuye estate. "Oh. I guess it is."

Alex watched as the last of the sun balanced on the horizon, waiting to dip below for the night.

He looked down. He was still holding Door's hand. He quickly released, embarrassed.

When he trusted his voice not to crack, he looked at Door.

"Thank you, Miss van Foyer, for a truly magnificent evening."

Hesitating, but then telling himself it was only the proper thing to do, he seized Door's hand, knelt and kissed it gently.

Door's eyes went wide as her hand began tingling where Alex's kiss lingered. "D-don't mention it," she stammered, her face growing warm. Luck for her it was dark, so he couldn't see her pale skin flush red. She just hoped he couldn't hear her heart go into hyperdrive.

He tried to fight off that odd little feeling in his stomach.

It was proper. It was a gentlemanly thing to do. No need to be flustered...right?

Alex swallowed hard. All of this was waaay to sudden for him to cope with right then and there.

He sort of just stared at Door, zoned out for a moment, smiling rather dumbly. Realizing what an absolute DORKWAD he must look like, Alex made a hasty bow, and retreated backwards, nearly hitting the iron fence.

"Goodnight, Miss van Foyer!" he called.

Only when she was out of his sight did it dawn on him that he might have escorted her home.

"Idiot." he said to himself.
