A Blunderbuss Am I.

Door turned back to watch him go to his front porch. She smiled fondly, then was struck with a bolt of some horridly spontaneous feeling. She waved a hand in frongt of her, opened a window onto Alex's front porch, right behind him--

--"You can call me Door," she whispered, not waiting for him to turn around. And before he could turn and reply--

--she had left, closing the window behind her.

He turned sharply, but there was no one there...

Alex smiled lamely, and sighed.

"It's an honor, Door..."


Ever so quietly, he stole toward his room, and wondered at the odd little feeling that had come over him. But mostly about that strange...wonderful girl.

Door found herself laying in the tall grass again, staring up at the stars.
"Ohgosh....Door, what have yuo gotten yourself into?" She liked him, that was for sure...But--no. She didn't just like him, did she? It felt like so much more than that...

Alex gulped. What was this? What happened?


It had all be so quick, so fleeting...it was just...it was just the proper thing to do, but...

Why did it leave him feeling so...alive? Why were his insides doing the hokey pokey, his heart in the forefront?

He groaned, burying his face in the pillow. What happened to him?

She didn't know what to do. Would she be like this every time she saw him now? She gaped at herself in horror, thinking of what an idiot she'd seem like.
But she just couldn't keep her eyes open long enough to worry about...

....She drifted off to sleep with Alex's name on her lips.
